4JG’s Story and Traditions

History

In 2002, the Giunco family made its first barrel of wine from a handpicked selection of grapes grown at their Colts Neck farm. That first barrel became known as Chambourcin Riserva and won its first gold medal in the 2004 NJ Wine Competition. The Chambourcin Riserva vintage continues to make us proud by medaling at the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition! Inspired by that barrel our appealing small lot wines get their rich charm and flavors through a combination of great estate grapes and traditional wine making techniques.

Located in Central New Jersey in a historic farming area 4JG's is named after the four founding family members. The Giunco family has farmed in Monmouth County for over 60 years. Founded in 1999, 4JG's Orchards & Vineyards is located on a farm with barns and houses that date back to the early 1700's.

In 2020 4JGs began to harvest from their Christmas Tree Farm. Pick your tree, drink hot wines from Thanksgiving to Christmas!

Our Farming Tradition

Chambourcin grapes ready for harvest

4JG's good farming practices and careful selection of rootstock that grow well in the soils of Monmouth County has already produced many award-winning wines. From winter pruning to fall harvest, the vineyard is closely monitored and maintained to guarantee the wine grapes are exposed to the best combination of hand crafting, sunlight, and water. 4JG's winemakers follow a simple philosophy that only the best grapes grown on their farm are selected to go into the bottle.
