4JG’s Vineyard

Enjoy our liquid history! See you in Spring 2026

Wow, what a spring! 4JG’s welcomed 80 temperatures in early April. However, temperatures dropped to 28 degrees during the critical early stages of bud break in mid April. Despite our team’s efforts, the freezing air caused significant damage to our tender young shoots. There are some signs that our vines are now coming back to life! Come walk the rows and witness the beginning of the 2026 vintage. 4JG’s is open every Saturday and Sunday, and now welcomes all of the members of your family!

Located in a historic farming area of Monmouth County, the property serves as a bridge between modern viticulture and the region’s 18th-century heritage. The winery is situated on a farm with structures that reflect the early settlement of the Colts Neck area. The farm features houses and barns with sections dating back to the early 1700s. The tasting room itself is located within the living room of an original historic farmhouse. Historically, the Big Brook and the surrounding fields were the literal retreat path for General Henry Clinton’s British Army as they fled toward Sandy Hook after the Battle of Monmouth in 1778.

Guests enjoy estate grown wines and can enjoy a picnic type setting or linger inside the tasting room.  While the winery was officially founded in 1999 by the Giunco family, it continues a 300-year tradition of active farming on the land.

The marketing and events teams are operating at full speed, finalizing the grand plans for the Semiquincentennial - the 250th Birthday of our nation! In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States, there’s a local wine trail that invites you to explore the intersection of history and harvest. Walk the same lands where history was made and enjoy the modern flavors that define our region today. See the events page for a description of the trail, and raise a glass to our heritage, one vineyard at a time — History never tasted so good!
